- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 (21 oz) can strawberry pie filling
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In the prepared baking dish, spread the strawberry pie filling evenly over the bottom.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the strawberry pie filling.
- Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the cream cheese layer.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use a butter pecan cake mix. To add some crunch, sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts on top before baking. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
