Ingredients
- 1.25 lbs ground chicken
- 5 ounces fresh spinach, chopped
- 4 ounces white cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns
- Your favorite burger toppings (lettuce, tomato, avocado, mayonnaise, etc.)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form each portion into a burger patty.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Carefully place the burger patties in the hot skillet and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until the burgers are cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the burgers from the skillet and place them on burger buns. Add your favorite toppings and serve immediately.
Notes
For a healthier option, use whole wheat buns. You can also add other vegetables to the burger mixture, such as diced mushrooms or onions. The burgers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave before serving.
