This creamy, cheesy, and irresistibly bubbling dip is loaded with fresh jalapeños, sharp cheddar, and a crispy golden panko topping. It is the ultimate party appetizer that perfectly balances heat with rich, savory comfort.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 fresh jalapeños, seeded and finely diced (reserve some slices for garnish)
  • 1 can (4 oz) diced green chiles, drained
  • 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch skillet or baking dish with non-stick spray or a little butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese using a hand mixer or stiff spatula until it is smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully combined and uniform.
  4. Fold in the diced fresh jalapeños, drained green chiles, shredded cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese until evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  5. Spread the dip mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish or skillet, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, and melted butter. Mix with a fork until the crumbs are evenly coated.
  7. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture generously over the top of the dip.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is bubbling around the edges and the topping is a golden brown color. Let cool for 5 minutes before garnishing with fresh cilantro and extra jalapeño slices.

Notes

Serve this dip with sturdy tortilla chips, toasted baguette slices, or fresh vegetable sticks like celery and carrots. For a milder dip, ensure all seeds and membranes are removed from the jalapeños. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
