Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Be careful not to burn the butter.
- Add the minced garlic, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using) to the melted butter. Cook, stirring constantly, for about 1-2 minutes, or until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the lemon juice and fresh parsley. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately. This spicy garlic butter sauce is fantastic for dipping bread, drizzling over grilled shrimp or chicken, or tossing with pasta.
Notes
For a milder flavor, reduce the amount of red pepper flakes. Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave. You can use the sauce as a marinade for grilled chicken or shrimp.
