- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon adobo sauce (from the can of chipotle peppers)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, chopped chipotle peppers, minced garlic, adobo sauce, and lime juice.
- Season with salt and pepper. Add chopped cilantro if desired.
- Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and the sauce is smooth. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving. This will also thicken the sauce slightly.
Notes
Store leftover Chipotle Garlic Sour Cream Sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. This sauce is delicious on tacos, nachos, quesadillas, grilled chicken, or as a dip for vegetables.
