Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 medium apple, peeled, cored, and diced
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the diced apple.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the air fryer basket, leaving space between each chunk. You may need to cook in batches.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Flip halfway through.
- Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the batter. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for best results. You can also use different types of apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for a different flavor profile. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for an extra special treat!
