Craving a warm, comforting treat? These air fryer apple fritter chunks are ready in just 20 minutes! Crispy on the outside, soft and apple-cinnamony on the inside, they’re the perfect quick dessert or snack.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 medium apple, peeled, cored, and diced
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Gently fold in the diced apple.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the air fryer basket, leaving space between each chunk. You may need to cook in batches.
  7. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Flip halfway through.
  8. Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the batter. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for best results. You can also use different types of apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for a different flavor profile. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for an extra special treat!
